The grey wolf walked painfully through the forest, his bloody back leg held suspended. He grimaced, as only a wolf can grimace, at the pain whenever something touched his leg, however slightly. He growled, upset at himself for being so weak. Usually, he wouldn't care about having an empty stomach for a few days, but he needed the food now, of all times. Besides, he couldn't fight for it, not with his leg.
The burbling of a small stream awoke Shade from his thinking. Water... Good. It'll wash away dirt and debris, as well as all that caked blood, he thought, wading into the crystal waters. He growled lowly as the cold watcer stung his wound, but he stood still, letting the current cleanse his wound. "Just wait till I get my fangs into that mangy mutt's fur! He'll regret this, expecially if I lose the use of my paw!" He snarled, then huffed, all anger draining out of his face. "What a drag..."

The earthen colored fae wandered along the edge of Foxtail Creek. This week had been a bad week for hunting. Search after search had brought only the scent of water voles and mice throughout the territory, and while they were good for training pups to hunt, it didn’t mean good eating for the pack. Of course, it wasn’t a big pack, but still. Today, the weather was bright and life seemed to whisper through the tree branches. Isis, the only she-wolf in this pack, was following the trail of a lone deer; a healthy buck by the scent. Generally, it was a rule not to hunt such strong creatures, but this female was desperate to take something down. Her hunger was wearing down on her attitude. Another scent crossed the path of the deer’s, Isis’s head snapped up. Male wolf and apparently injured by the blood spatters here. Her longing for food was overridden by the need to go find this male, and question his presence within the territory.
”This had better be worth it.”
Isis growled to herself as she switched directions and leapt over the creek. After a little bit of a lope, she entered the forest and kept low as she continued her search. Soon, she came by a male, grumbling to himself about something or the other. His wound didn’t look too good, but at least he was washing it. Deciding that this male wasn’t a threat, Isis walked out onto the banks of the creek confidently.
”You.” She demanded his attention. ”What’s your business here?”

Shade looked up, ears perked, as another wolf walked confidently, if not arrogantly, onto the bank out of the woods. She had a kinda snotty tone in her voice, one that urked him beyond compare. "What a drag..." He said to himself, "I get stuck with the spoiled brat," He shook his head, his yellow eyes looking fearlessly at the fae.
"What does it look like? I'm washing my leg," He said, pointing to whis gruesome wound. Thankfully, it had not begun to bleed again, but it was uncomfortable to feel water combing through his fur. It reminded him of the swamp, where he had to work all day. God, that was a drag! He looked blankly back at the female, awaiting her answer.

Arrogant curr. Isis thought to herself, her muzzle melding into a snarl. She had no time for miserable, half-assed wolves who looked like they could barely keep themselves alive. In fact, this Tribe didn’t have time for such a thing. Her pearl white teeth glinted under her muzzle skin. Isis’s ears stayed forward, however, to catch everything and anything this mongrel had to say.
”You’ll regret that, you seem much more of a brat than me.” She gestured to his leg, the shape of a wolf bite. ”Poor puppy couldn’t catch his own food?”
She pouted for a moment, her eyes glinting with satisfaction as it changed to a smirk. Pathetic. Shaking out her coat a little, Isis turned away from the waste of space. Her time was for better use than that. There was much still to be done for the pack and if he wasn’t going to help, then so be it.
”You might want to wash that Swamp scent off of you, pup.” Isis smirked over her shoulder as she walked away. ”Nightshade won’t like that.”

Shade growled slightly as the fae mocked him, yellow eyes glinting dangerously. "I can take care of myself. I just was uncharacteristically stupid, and picked a fight with the wrong wolf..." He said, absentmindedly licking his wound. He looked up as the wolf walked away, saying about how he should get rid of his swamp scent. He sniffed his shoulder. He had been gone from the Swamplands for about a full year now, how could he still smell of his former tribe?
"Hey, wait!" He called, hobbling after her at his highest possible speed, which wasn't that fast. "What kind of tribe wolf are you to let a strange, possibly enemy, wolf sit in your territory without beinging him to your alpha?" Her growled at himslef as he hit his injured foot on a stick. "Troublesome female!" He said, mostly to himslef, and looked back to the fae. "Now, could you trouble yourself to show me to Nightshade, perhaps? Or should I mention, once I find him, that you where ready to leave me here unsupervised?" He hoped that that was as large an offence here as in the swamp. Probably not, if she was about to do it.
